Welcome to the New York State Women’s Discipleship!

 

Our mission is to lead women of all ages to become our best selves- spiritually, physically and emotionally.

 

Purpose: To encourage spiritual growth, personal development and leadership among women; and to contribute to the general welfare of the home, church, community and world. To empower, strengthen, and encourage women to their full potential in God by helping women gain knowledge and understanding of God.  The ministry will provide opportunities for women to identify and use their unique, God given gifts for harvesting other women for God’s kingdom.

 

The NY Women’s Ministries Department equips Godly leaders to create space where women feel valued and included. We believe this happens best as women gather together, creating disciples of Jesus who will impact their family, community, and the world.

 

Dedicated women are making a significant difference in their world by their commitment to devote their time, talents and finances to promote the goals enunciated in the Women’s Ministries statement of purpose. Women are encouraged to accept their responsibility as women of God who will offer themselves as living sacrifices, acceptable and pleasing to God; be devoted to one another in love, honoring one another above themselves; serve God and their church with zeal, keeping their spiritual fervor; joyfully hope; be patient in affliction and faithful in prayer; share with God’s people who are in need; and practice hospitality. The verses found in Romans 12:1, 10-13 are the foundations for these aspirations. Women are also encouraged to be committed to teaching the younger women, as outlined in Titus 2:4.

 

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

 

Goals:

 

Increase women participation in serving the Lord.

 

Create opportunities where women can minister to women and young women in different facets of their lives.

 

Establish a place of peace for women to retreat from their busy lives and have quiet time with God and engage in fellowship with other women.

 

Help women start or maintain an effective prayer life.

 

1 Peter 4:10, 11 – Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
